Like the title implies, today was my first day of classes. And in my own, very professional and non-biased opinion, it went very very well. I found all of my classes pretty easy and even got some homework done in my down time. I did though forget my schedule at my apartment so I had to call one of my roommates and had her get online and tell me which room I was supposed to go to. But I got there and wasn't even late. My biology teacher is a spaz so I'll probably switch out of that.
I'd say today was a good day.
College isn't so hard.
Yet...

The Last Day of My Previous Life
Tomorrow I move to Provo. I'm am beyond excited and I can't wait to move into my apartment and start school.
But it is bittersweet. I mean, I've lived in Idaho Falls my entire life and it is kinda bizarre to think I'm going to be living in Idaho Falls. It hit me for the first time yesterday as I was driving home from volunteering at the hospital.
Because my sister is a genius, and because today is not Thursday, Kim's blog Proudly presents:

Thankful Tuesday
1. My friends
These people up here are pretty much my very favorite people in the world. I can't really imagine my life without them, which is ok, since we all intend to stay in touch. The hours of useless time wasting are some of the most boring/funny times of my life. Walmart became a hangout spot, as did many other different venues in Idaho Falls. Playing games, but never playing by the rules because we didn't feel like it. The inside jokes that still make me laugh as I sit here and write. And the hours of tears, giggles, Harry Potter badminton, Halo tournaments, pizza eating, making fun of Cody at Perkins, eggs for breakfast, sticks to bent honey, code names like Kohl and so much more. I could do a blog post all about them if I had mind to.

I had a little station wagon, that was probably as banged up and ugly as a car can get. Yet, it got me where I needed to be and I had a lot of good conversations sitting there. Oh, did I mention it has rear facing seats? No need to be jealous.
3.My siblings
True, I don't lose these when I move to Provo, but in feeling thankful, I couldn't make a list without them. They are four of my very best friends and I love them all. We are extremely weird and sometimes people don't understand our interesting brand of humor, but I love it. We may not always see eye to eye, but we are the bee's knees. The tops. Groovy. Savvy. Cat's Pajamas. Pretty much my siblings are the coolest people on the planet.

4. Good Books that thankfully I had the time to read
Life in books is sweet. I could (and have, many many times) sit and read for hours upon hours. Love them.
5.MOVIES
My friends always give me the hardest time because I watch a lot of movies. No, I'm wrong. I watch too many movies. Though I don't think that is such a bad thing. Like books, I escape into movies. They relax me. Going off to college, I won't be able to watch as many movies as I will probably have the urge to, so I'm very thankful I got in my fill during my senior year.
I have a lot to be thankful for, but these are the few that I'm thankful for this morning. I'm sure as I finish out today, my last day of my previous life, a lot more will come to mind. Haha, I love to be dramatic :D

Packing up my Life
So today was a depressing day of my life. I have been packing for college for literally weeks now, but today I put the last of my wardrobe into a suit case and my parents took out my dresser. It doesn't even look like my room anymore. Just and empty/characterless room.
Though in its defense it is much cleaner than the photos below show. These are the early stages of packing, so in the process of cleaning my room... it ended up more messy. Doubly sad day

The Countdown
Its down to seven days. In case you are wondering, thats not a lot of time.
I've gotten most of my stuff ready to go, I am just putting most of it off because I am lazy like that.
So I don't really have much left to say except that in 7 days, I won't be killed by a creepy little girl crawling out of a television, but rather I'll be down in provo

The blog that died for a short period of time
But never fear. I have revived it! And since I'm going off to college in a little less than a month I figured I should get into a better habit of blogging. So here's a brief recap of my summer:

- I graduated. Yep. Sure did
- I stayed at home.
- I was visited the Midwest Mohrs who are pretty much the best of the best, with pretty much the cutest baby on the entire planet
- I visited the uh... Hills of Provo who's baby is also the cutest baby on the planet
- Went to a freaking sweet Fray concert
- I went to girl's camp
- I blogged finally

AP tests suck!
That's right. In case you were not aware, I have three AP tests this week: AP US Gov and Politics, AP Calculus AB, and AP English Literature. For the most part I feel fairly well prepared, but you never really know until you sit down to take the test, which I will be.... happily..... doing tomorrow at 8 am and the repeating on Wednesday and Thursday. The upside, though, is that the tests are generally over around noon, depending how long it takes the proctor to read all the instructions and what not, and since we are excused for the whole day of school, I am done with thinking at like noon. This is a good thing because testing for that long fries your brain. Oh yes it does.

Hotdogs and Skyrooms
The morning started out with two very important food stops: Eli's Cheesecake and Superdawgs.Eli's has some of the most amazing cheesecake I have ever eaten in my entire life. Kevin is absolutely in love with it so we were commanded to go and get him some cheesecake while we were in Chicago. When we went in there was this tour of first graders who were listening to the lady talk about the magic of cheesecake. Oh and there was this mural of flying cheesecake painted on the wall. It seemed to say to people coming in "Why, hello. You have died and gone to cheesec
ake heaven." It made me laugh.Superdawgs is a pretty sweet place. We went to the actual place the man started it and there were these giant hotdog statues on top of the building. They were kinda funny except for the
fact that the boy hotdog's eyes flashed a menacing red color and he looked really rather imposing in his tarzan garb. The hotdogs were super yummy and the perfect set off for the very delectable cheesecake.
But the true highlight of the day was the Sears Tower. Once the highest building in the world, it stands at a staggering 1450 feet high. There is this cool viewing room on the 99th floor. We took an elevator all the way up there and it was the longest elevator ride of my life. It was running half speed and still going a little over 19 mph. I am terrified of elevators so I was a little nervous when it started up. Though it wasn't too bad and the view from the top was way worth it. On a clear day you can see 4 different states from up there, but it was raining when we were up there so we could "only" see most of the general Chicagoland. I got to have my picture taken with the president which was sweet and look down on the park where he made the presidential victory speech. All around it was just a good day I'm thinking.

[insert clever blog post title here]

So this is a post to satisfy all of those who think my previous post was creepy. Which, touche, it was (please note the commas... it makes sense I promise, you with hearing impairments. You know who you are).
Well. I don't have anything interesting to post about myself so I'm just going to keep typing until I get tired of it.
You know, I love redbox. It just makes sense. I mean there rarely is a reason I need a movie for an entire week, and even if I bring it back the next day, places still charge 3-5 dollars. Redbox knows whats up. You only need to watch the movie once, so you pay a dollar and bring it in the next day. It doesn't get much easier. And there is no need to talk to annoying sales associates who you can tell hate working at movie rental places as much as you hate going there. Once you take human interaction out of the equation, people are much happier.
On another note, I realized that a lot of the so called "classic" novels have really depressing endings. It kinda sucks.
Ok. I'm tired of writing now.

2 Days and Counting
I'm not counting down the days until Friday, or the days until my 18th birthday. But something much more awesome.
You see there is this after hours party at Skyline on Febuary 6th from 9:30ish to 12:30ish. The cost is $10 and there will be blow up toys, casino games, grizzly idol, and so much more.
And now that I've done my duty to my school pride, we can get on to more pressing matters.... like the fact that I turn 18 in only two days! Yes the wonderful world of smoking, lottery t
ickets, dry ice, WD40, spray paint, and who knows what else. And this won't just be like other birthdays. Oh no. I'm not just going to wake up and think "wow I feel exactlly the same as I did yesterday only I'm a year older." I'm going to wake up, and the world is going to enter a new era of awesomeness.
First thing I'll do is answer my call from the President.
"Hey, Kim, just calling to wish you a very happy birthday."
"Yo, thanks Barack. I was just wondering if we could throw a nation wide party." And in a beautiful display of irony he will answer:
"Yes we can!"
Second, I will walk out my door and waiting there will be my own private limo and staff, who will wait on my every whim. After a day of fabulous class-skipping, I will get into a beautiful ballgown and go to a huge ball, held in my honor. Everyone who is anyone will be there. Obama, Clooney, and so many others. I'll dance all of the sweet ballroom which I will have conveniently learned since turning 18.

I'll get to go on a special space launch that will have been planned just for me. I'm going to go into space, and look at all the beautiful stars, make a startling discovery, and become so famous that I will get named senator, just cause I'm sweet like that. But I mustn't get ahead of myself. That doesn't come until my 30th birthday.

Lastly, there will be world wide fireworks that will be glorious to be beheld. Magical things will happen and then the clock will strike nine thirty.
The gown and all of the accomplishments will disappear and my limo will once more become a squash. I'll get into my beat up station wagon, drive to skyline and party it up at the after hours party.
And thats just my 18th birthday. Wait until I turn 21!

Kim's Review (that I guess now happens on any day that I feel like)
Friday, January 2, 2009
And thus it was that 2008 passed, and born was the year 2009

2009... the year I have been waiting for since I was in the 9th grade. Not only will I turn 18 and thus be able to do the sweet adult things that come along with that (haha),but I will also be graduating highschool, which is kind of an unnerving thought. I don't feel like I should be graduating. Don't get me wrong, though. I'm super stoked to be getting out of highschool and moving on to the big collegiate world.
hmmm
But before I meditate to much on my impending future, maybe we should recap the last few weeks.
Christmas was lovely. My sister Kristi and her husband and baby traveled the scarily icy roads from Provo to spend Christmas with us. It was nice seeing her again because I don't see nearly enough of my sisters and I would like. Plus babies are always fun to have around. Kevin also came up from Provo, but he calls me like every day so he was not so much of a treat. Just kidding. He's always a blast to have around. Following my pre-Christmas illness (bleh, can you say worst Christmas present ever? Possibly the most embarrassing too), Christmas morning came and with it came my laptop, cute apron, and movies. I can now blog, facebook, and watch movies from the comfort of different places than my living room. Mobility never was so much fun.
The following week was uneventful. Most of my friends were out of town so I just puttered around my house and pretended like I had a life. I did see the movies Bedtime Stories and The Curious Case of Benjamin Button, of which the first I adored. Button was almost the most boring movie I have ever seen.
And so now that I have mused on the past, I turn my eyes to the future, as scary and exciting as it is. Lets just say I'm heading down a whitewater river with no life jacket.
Which sucks cause I can't swim.
